Lowell Leroy Lamer, 69, passed away on October 18, 2024. He was born on July 26,1955 in Salina, KS. He was a lifelong resident of Salina and graduated from Salina Central High School in 1973. He earned a bachelor’s degree from K-State Salina. He was a lifelong cartologist and spent decades developing his craft of map making. He was united in marriage to Janie Lamer on January 17, 1976. They were married for 46 years prior to Janie’s passing in 2022.

Lowell had a lifelong passion for the outdoors. He spent many days fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, and exploring. His most precious memories were passing those skills on to his children and grandchildren. He also had earned the rank of Life Scout in the Boy Scouts.

Lowell was also an avid gardener. He enjoyed gardening with his family when his children were young, and after his children were grown, him and his wife shared their love of gardening together. He was a long-time member of the amateur radio club, and spent many years as a volunteer storm spotter with the Saline County Emergency Management. Most of all, he loved his children and grandchildren.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Letty Lamer, and his beloved wife Janie. He is survived by his twin daughters, Kimberly (Lance) Bartel and Stephanie (Ben) Holston both of Wichita, KS, sister Jackie (Bill) Baker, of Salina, KS, and brothers Lee Lamer of Salina, KS, and Larry Lamer of Thornton, CO. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Candace and Bryson Britting, and Abby, Carson, Ethan, Ellie, and Charlotte Bartel, all of Wichita.

Lowell will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him. A short graveside service will be held by the family at Gypsum Hill Cemetery on Saturday October 26th at 11am.
